Mengying joined TBA in 2015 after earning a Master of Architecture and Master of Construction Management from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Prior to this, she participated in an International Exchange Program with Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland, and studied architecture during a five-year program while earning a Bachelor of Engineering from Yangzhou University in China. Born and raised in Nanjing, the capital city of Jiangsu Province, China, Mengying was intrigued as a child by the juxtaposition of contemporary architecture and ancient historic sites.

Now a licensed architect in California and a USGBC LEED-accredited professional, Mengying provides our team with valuable insights on sustainable architecture and the design of new homes and renovations with green technologies. Outside of the office, Mengying likes to attend the community events organized by AIA, the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, and the Los Angeles Conservancy. She also graduated from Leader Flow, a leadership training program, in 2024. That same year, she and her husband welcomed their beloved daughter, Ada, into the world.
