David Stone
AIA, NCARB
Principal Architect & Director of Operations
With more than 20 years of experience in design, management, and firm leadership, David oversees operations, staffing, business development, and the ongoing education of TBA’s staff — guiding the firm’s continued growth and commitment to creating enduring, meaningful architecture since he joined TBA in 2018.
He earned his Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Community Planning & Urban Design degrees from Auburn University. Over the course of his career, David has designed across a broad spectrum of architectural styles and vernaculars — from contemporary residences to historically inspired estates — with experience spanning the commercial, healthcare, institutional, and residential sectors. He has also taught courses on sustainability, urban design, and digital tools at the collegiate level.
A dedicated advocate for community and preservation, David serves as Co-President of the Board of Directors for My Friend’s Place, a nonprofit supporting youth experiencing homelessness, and as a Board Member of the Los Angeles Conservancy, advancing the stewardship of the region’s architectural heritage; along with serving as Board Governance and Nominations Chair as part of their Executive Committee. He also was recently appointed to the Beverly Hills Architectural & Design Review Commission.
When not working or volunteering, David can be found enjoying time with his husband, Mark, and their dog, Kya.
