LEED Gold Sustainable Home
Studio City, CA
When this project came along, Tim and two teammates had recently earned LEED accreditations and were itching to create a LEED-certified traditional house. Our client jumped at the opportunity to build a sustainable home.
Creative design strategy packed a lot of house into approximately 5,000 square feet. The downstairs includes a living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, guest suite, laundry, mudroom and billiard room. Upstairs is a master suite, three en-suite bedrooms, an office and an upstairs family room. Entertaining is encouraged with a deep front porch and an expansive rear porch with dining area, built-in BBQ and a sitting area near an outdoor fireplace. The resort-like rear yard provides a pool with a waterslide, spa, sport court and cabana.
Green features include solar panels, a rain cistern, a grey water tank, an air purification system, water filtration and state-of-the-art insulation. The project was awarded a LEED Gold status by the U.S. Green Building Council and, most importantly, our client and her family are thrilled with their new home.
