ON THE BOARDS
Spanish Colonial Revival Rebuild II
Altadena, CA
Project Type: Eaton Fire rebuild
Project Size: Approximately 5,450 SF including main house, basement, and ADU
Current Phase: Construction Documents
Project Team
Project Manager: Max Rendon
Job Captain: Omar Femat
Design Associate: Cole Persons
The Assignment: The primary goal for this Altadena home was reflecting the character and details of its 1928 predecessor while incorporating fire-resilient design and functional improvement.
Currently: The project is currently under construction, with foundation concrete work underway. Framing is scheduled to commence following completion of the foundation phase.
Standout Details: This project is TBA’s first “self-certified” project — allowing the team to verify code compliance in-house without a full County plan review. The team also utilized Walk Your Plans Los Angeles, an immersive full-scale design experience, to help the homeowners make key decisions.
Sustainable Features: Future solar integration and a site-responsive drainage strategy that utilizes the natural slope of the property to direct rainwater, reducing the need for mechanically pumped drainage systems to the street.
