The Assignment: Renovation and additions to a two-story, existing 3,216 sq. ft., four-bedroom, four-bath main house. The design expands and updates the existing home to meet the needs of a family of five while honoring the existing 1920s Spanish Colonial Revival architectural language. A two-car detached garage and separate ADU/pool house are new additions; and the site has been reimagined to achieve the character of a Spanish hillside town, with an unstructured, natural feel.

Currently: In plan check.

Standout Details: Additions to the main house have been designed to preserve the original 1920s and 1930s facade.

Sustainable Features: Foundation drains, solar collectors/inverters, EV charger, shading features, natural ventilation, Dark Sky-approved lighting, electric appliances, electric/heat pump pool equipment, locally sourced materials and pervious hardscape.
