The Assignment: Create a new home sited on the front lot of a wooded site in Sierra Madre with existing guest house. The open plan with large glazed openings will lead onto a wrapping deck, providing natural light and views of the San Gabriel Mountains. Inside the new main home, vaulted ceilings will celebrate significant spaces, and interior rooms will be light-filled, cozy, and fun with textured materials and moody tones.

Currently: We are completing an internal review of the CD set in preparation to send out to bid.

Standout Details: Vaulted living room with southern exposure and views out towards the wooded site; extensive deck with multiple tiers, outdoor fireplace, and built-in bench; arched tub alcove with decorative glazing; textured walls and ceilings throughout.

Sustainable Features: Proposed features include permeable hardscape, tankless water heaters, proposed pool and PV solar, and natural ventilation.
