Hillside Spanish Colonial Revival

We joined forces with Joe Lucas to bring this run-down 1920s Spanish Colonial Revival hillside residence into the 21st century. Perched high in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, the city views are world-class. Our scope was to protect the historic integrity of the home, while providing convenience, safety, and comfort to our homeowners with two small children.
The renovation rearranged several spaces, including the kitchen, baths, and closets. We created a home office and a new bunk room, revising and extending several view terraces and balconies. Inside, new plank flooring, vaulted ceilings, new doors and windows, and new mechanical systems complete this makeover.
Our favorite changes include Joe’s artful, lighthearted, contemporary finishes, which balance the solid plaster shelter and wrought iron – the perfect place to raise a modern family with a love of history.
