We are seeking a full-time Design Associate with 5+ years of residential design experience. This position supports our project teams throughout the design process. Our studio specializes in traditional and contemporary single-family custom home design with a focus on advocating for and integrating sustainable systems in all projects.

Design and documentation tasks include:

  • As-built measurement and drafting
  • Drafting and detailing of schematic, permit and construction drawings
  • Development of client and government agency design review presentation drawings
  • Support PM in client communications
  • Support PM with building and zoning code analysis
  • Support PM with city and other government agency permitting processes
  • Support PM with coordination of design and building consultants

Required Software skills:

  • AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, Lumion 3D (SketchUp a plus)
  • Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Billquick

Required competencies:

  • Understand and implement project budget worksheet decisions
  • Understanding of building materials and construction methods
  • Understanding of architecture history

General and administrative responsibilities:

  • Maintain timely, accurate and kind team-member relations at all times
  • Maintain timely, accurate and kind client relations at all times
  • Maintain accurate timesheets
  • Provide support to front office in answering telephones, delivering packages and facilitating client meetings
  • Provide support to TBA Library, including: Archived Drawings, Materials Library, Resources and Vendors Library, Visual Concept Library and Book and Periodical Library

Minimum qualifications:

  • Five (5) year Bachelors of Architecture Degree or Masters Degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited university
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working in a residential architecture firm
  • NCARB AXP participant preferred
