Celebrating 30 Years of Growth & Change

Since our founding in 1994 with a single architect, one assistant, and two drafting boards, we have grown into an award-winning firm with three Principals and 20+ architects, designers, and administrative teammates, using 3D technology to create beautiful, sustainable family residences across the United States.

Our next chapter will apply all we have learned to build safe, healthy, beautiful communities and address climate change. Designing homes will always be the core of work, yet we are expanding our impact. Below, hear from our two other Principals about their intentions for our firm’s next chapter. I’m excited for what’s to come.

To celebrate our 30th anniversary, our team partnered with My Friend’s Place, an organization that cultivates growth and opportunity for young people impacted by homelessness. David introduced our team to them in 2018, and now serves as Co-President for their Board of Directors.

“With a focus on building a team of passionate learners, I am driving the expansion of our knowledge and influence within both the industry and the community. I aim to actively connect our office to the communities we serve through philanthropy and professional engagement. By prioritizing continuing education, we’ll stay at the cutting edge of technology and design, positioning ourselves to break into new markets and diverse sectors. And, with our collaborators’ and clients’ commitment to excellence, we can ensure that every partnership brings out the best in innovation and quality. This approach ensures we remain versatile, dynamic, and ready to meet every new challenge with excellence.”

“I am guiding our team to design places that inspire creativity, support wellbeing, and operate in harmony with the environment. Single family residences in Southern California have always been at the core of our work. As we plan the future of our firm, I challenge our team to infuse healthy and sustainable design into every design solution. I want to utilize our skills in adaptive reuse and sustainability within our community to collaborate in interesting locations outside of our local network. The challenge of good design is infinite, and my goal is to open TBA to opportunity and improvement.”
