“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
– Helen Keller
2024 has been a year of change and growth for TBA, marked by unique projects, new collaborations, and exciting milestones. Kelly and David stepped into their roles as partners, we celebrated staff changes and promotions, and we cheered on our teammates who welcomed four new babies into their families. Kyra and Mengying became licensed architects, David became Co-President of the Board at My Friend’s Place, and Jim joined the Board of Directors of the ICAA Southern California Chapter.
We have focused on investing in our team this year to build our collective expertise, offering training in sustainability, construction terminology, Revit, and classical architecture.
Looking ahead, we’re planning further growth: deeper community engagement, designing adaptive reuse projects, and expanding our work in Montecito and the San Francisco Peninsula. On a personal note, I’ve been asked to give two lectures on adaptive reuse at NYU this semester.
Above all, 2024 has been about collaboration — making introductions, mentoring and learning from one another, and supporting each other in every way. We’re eager to build these friendships in the year ahead.
Wishing you a joyful and meaningful holiday season, however you celebrate. We can’t wait to hear all about it in January!
